here is stellaria media of the family caryophyllacae:



this is a winter time bloom that can be found throughout the United States and in Mississippi from November until March. according to Dukes, this plant only has five petals, though it appears to have ten. the petals are, in fact, deeply cleft. this is quite a small plant, this particular specimen being a mere 3 cm tall. this was taken beside the N. State Street Pennzoil across from UMMC.
