copper iris

here is iris fulva of the family iridaceae:

this particular specimen was found just off the Pearl River about a mile south of the reservoir in Jackson, Mississippi. i. fulva is native to North American. its flower is quite conspicuous being about 3 or 4 inches across. my brother James took this picture, using my camera.
