lanceleaf frogfruit

here is phyla lanceolata of the family verbenaceae:


p. lanceolata is native to the United States, rare in Pennsylvania and endangered in New Jersey. this particular plant can be found at the end of the fence between the Pennzoil Quick Lube and the JSU parking lot. it is perennial. the above photo was taken in September of 2006.
