magnolia

here is a example of magnolia grandiflora, of the family magnoliaceae.


this was taken in Cleveland, Mississippi. m. grandiflora is a native species and can be found throughout the south. in the world of taxonomy the genus magnolia has a special honor: the division of that denotes flowering plants bares the name Magnoliophyta. to further honor this great plant, Magnoliophyta has two classes, one of which is named Magnoliopsida representing all dicots.
