wild geranium

this is geranium carolinianum of the family geraniaceae.


this photo was taken behind sterling towers in Jackson Mississippi, late October. a small plant that stands only about six to eight centimeters off the ground and quite easy to overlook. the flower is about 7 millimeters in diameter.
