climbing hempweed

this is mikania scandens of the family asteraceae:

this vine is native to the United States. the above picture was taken in September of 2006 at Mule Jail. not toxic, but no good for human consumption, this plant is a tasty treat for small woodland creature that are fond of leafy goods. not much to look at from a distance but when you get close you find the flowers are quite pleasant as was the scent, if memory serves.

and for those what's like the large round numbers, this happens to be the 100th post.
