Carolina silverbell

This is Halesia carolina of the family styracaceae:


This example was found at Mule Jail on March 23, 2008.  It is a flowering tree whose flowers are found in a fascicle arrangement and is native to the southeast United States.

Beautiful shot. How big is the flower compared to a little finger nail? We may have that growing in the edge of the woods.....
