roundfruit hedgehyssop

here is gratiola virginiana of the family scrophulariaceae:

this little cute-e-poo was growing on the road at chapel hill in March of '07. it is a small flower, just about 8 mm long, but they grow in groups and so stand out. they don't have much of a sent to them, either, but they certainly appear eager to help out.
