green carpetweed

This is an example of Mollugo verticillata in the family caryophyllaceae:



A plant native to the United States and its Caribbean territories, though it was introduced to Canada.  M. verticillata is an example of the cluster flower arrangement.  This unique example was discovered growing in a crack in the sidewalk outside the JSU stadium on October 10th 2006.  It is one of the first plant I photographed.
