purple deadnettle

A cousin of a henbit deadnettle, Lamium purpureum is of the family lamiaceae:

This plant was found at Mule Jail March 16, 2008.  While not much to look at on its own, it can grow en mass and turn a field a pleasant shade of purple.  This is another example of the cyme flower arrangement.
